The Result of Worship

The presence of God Himself: peaceful, yet overwhelming. The sweetest love you’ll ever experience. Timeless. You just want to bask forever in His presence. Joy unspeakable.  These are the blessings I have had when worshiping our wonderful Lord.

Perhaps you’ve felt the presence of God and have even more superlatives to add. As a father swoops down to scoop up his little child and smother them with love, so does our heavenly Father wish to bless us. How can we experience this wonderful Presence?

The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). It could also be described as "dwelling" or being "enthroned." We know that He is always with us, but when His presence manifests, it becomes almost tangible—unmistakable. God looks upon the heart, and when He sees true, authentic desire in our praise, His blessings overflow. You can’t fake it; praise must come from honest, simple faith. When a body of believers praises Him wholeheartedly, the presence of God comes down, so to speak, and fills the room with glory and love. There’s nothing like it.

Does this happen every time we praise Him? Speaking from experience, no. But it happens often enough to leave you longing for more each time it does. God's presence ministers to us in ways we cannot express. I find that I understand Him more when I am that close. It's a glimpse of eternity, a foretaste of how it will be when we are with Him forever. I even feel as though time stands still when the Creator of the Universe is so evidently present. It is a warm, soothing, calming, yet exhilarating experience—all at once.

I hope you get to experience His presence. Love Him, praise Him, seek Him—and He will be found. Come to Him as an innocent child does, lift your arms, and say, “Abba, Father.” He can’t resist you when you love Him purely.  You'll feel Him cover you with His love, and that is the most wonderful feeling ever!
